Mohican 2008
Ro, Eden and Shel - wow dry clothes feel great!
Cool waterfall - does that sound like thunder??
We took another weekend camping trip - this time with our friends Hope, Dave and Eden. We've known them forever and they were even our best man/maid of honor. We went to Mohican State Park this year, instead of the hillbilly camp we went to last year - that's what 6 months of planning gets you! We did not regret leaving the two seater outhouses from last years campground. The state park was really nice with plenty of things to do and all very clean. We canoed for a few hours on Saturday and Shelby tagged along on an innertube. We biked, hiked and swam at the pool.
Above are the pictures from our "well planned" hiking trip. It "looked" like a nice morning so we left our then dry camp. We figured we would just pack up when we got back. We didn't take much notice to all the scurrying campers around us packing up. Anyway, the two mile hike led us to the really cool waterfall with out much water - but otherwise very beautiful. During our hike to get there, we kept hearing a thunder like noise. "Sounds like trucks?" "Do you think that's rain?" With at least a mile to go - the heavens unleashed and it poured. We were pretty drenched and we came back to an empty campground besides our floating campsite. We were looking forward to finally going home with just dry dirty stuff for once - not to be.
We survived and we have every camp item we own now drying. We had a great time anyway!
