Ro turns 7

My "baby" just turned 7 today. I am cherishing these last days of summer break as my little guy gets ready to start all day school for the first time. He has been my lunch buddy for so long now during the school year. Robbie is often goofy and a little crazy when he has an audience, but he really has been my calm sweet little buddy during the day. I asked him last night if he wanted to live with Daddy and I forever, and he was very excited to do so and not have to leave us and get married when he was older. I'm enjoying it while I can, but the time is coming when he probably won't want to be living with his parents forever.

Robbie is one of the most unique people I know. He's very honest, often impatient, a kiss-up, very smart, can't find anything by himself, very close to God, he has the longest fingers and always has dry skin, very sweet and just very Robbie. We are very blessed to have this very unique 7 year old for a son.

Happy Birthday Ro!
He had a small birthday celebration with just family and some chocolate cupcakes. I avoided a big party with a bunch of little boys and instead Robbie had his best friend Devin spend the night and later went to Chuck E Cheese. We got him a new mountain bike for his big present. It makes it so much easier for him to keep up on the trails, he doesn't look like he's peddaling his little heart out. The bike has 21 speeds and only hand brakes, so it's taken a little getting used to.

Happy birthday from all the Vances, Robbie!!! I personally don't think it's fair that you haven't started school yet. My girls have been in school since the end of JULY!!! (Yes, I'm serious.) Enjoy the end of your summer. :o) Hope you had a very special day!
