I have a 10 year old

As scary as that sounds - its true. Shelby recently celebrated her 10th birthday over the past two weekends. She had her first ever sleep over with her friends. We themed her party to Survivor. My mother in law helped me make "buffs" for the girls to wear (ok I, just picked out the material - she did the rest), they competed in survivor challenges, and even drank out of coconuts (plastic). They "survived" till about midnight and were up around 6:30 the next morning.

On her true birthday, we had the rest of the family over to celebrate. Shelby got some Napoleon Dynamite (see above picture) things. Napoleon Dynamite is a movie favorite with the kids in Shelby's grade. She also received some things for the Game Cube we purchased a few weeks ago. I am sad to say I have become a "GameCube widow" - the rest of the family frequently abandons me to play football, Pokemon, and soccer (its great for me becuase I've got to catch up on some reading). My dad had such a good time with the Gamecube (and the kids) , my mom got him one for Valentines Day.
