A friend recommended that we go to Fort De Soto beach. Theres a beach and a historic fort used in the spanish american war. The kids loved shelling, but the water is just a little too cold to swim in. It actually wasn't as cold as the water felt this summer at the quarry.

On the remaing days in Clearwater, Jeff had to attend meetings at the GBS plant. I got brave enough to venture out on my own with the kids. We went to Madeira Beach twice and the kids were able to play in the Gulf and the sand. Temps stayed in the low to mid 70s while we were there. One day on the way back to the hotel, we happened upon a mom & pop produce stand at an orange grove. We got blood oranges, fresh strawberries, and miniature bananas.
